Mesabi Range College, now MN North-Mesabi Range has always been the official kick off of my graduation season because they finish their year a couple weeks ahead of the earliest high schools. They have always been incredibly accommodating in allowing me to tell their story giving me almost free rein to go wherever the story leads me and I have always been grateful to that.
This year’s ceremony was a little different because the school asked me to put together a full package of images to really bring the feel and stories of this year’s class to life and what an incredible experience it was.
Behind the scenes, everything comes to life with students joking with friends, some for the last time and that mix of both excitement for finishing such a long journey but also you can feel a sense of nervousness at the unknown.
Being able to capture that before the formal activities adds so much to the images and then the class of 2026 topped the previews once the program started in the Iron Trail Motors Event Center, letting their personalities show and embracing the official starts of new careers or chapters in their lives.
