
Celebrate Side Lake Summer Festival delivers on Family Fun
Although the city of Side Lake has a year-round population of less than 500 people. It has an oversized footprint of fun on the Iron Range. Sporting five major events each year, including summer, fall, and winter festivals. The Side Lake Events Committee takes pride in its community events.
August 13th’s 6th annual Celebrate Side Lake Summer Festival was a massive community undertaking with more than 80 volunteers helping pull it off. Thursday’s event had more than 30 vendors, food trucks, live music, a magician, a petting zoo, live art demonstrations, and plenty of games and fun for the kids, including bounce houses, a Hungry Hungry Hippos game, and aerial fun on bungee cords.

The population of Side Lake more than doubles over the summer with seasonal residents, and the summer festival was originally created as a final get-together with summer residents in mid-August before the cabins close for the season. Events are planned so all attendees, from grandparents to young children, will enjoy the experience. Next up in Side Lake is the popular Fall Festival on October 3. The Fall Festival is set to feature a pumpkin patch, campfires, and costume fun.
