The St. Louis County Fair Opens Wednesday Afternoon
The Five Best Days of Summer don’t officially start until 3:00 Wednesday afternoon, but work is well underway to open the St. Louis County Fair for the season.
Works of art, prize vegetables, baked goods, and knitting entries were checked into the judging booth. Sheep, pigs, cows, and horses were led to their stalls in the 4-H livestock barn, and food trucks and vendor booths were rolled into place, but the biggest change to the county fairgrounds in Chisholm took place behind the Minnesota Discovery Center parking lot as the St. Louis County Fair Midway sprang up with dazzling color and the promise of excitement.
The fair opens Wednesday, August 5th, at 3:00, with the midway springing into life at 5:00. The fair, known as the Five Best Days of Summer, runs from 11:00 to 11:00 Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 to 6:00.
