A Spicy Good Time for Charity
Chili chefs from across the Range created more than two dozen different types of spicy bliss for the 7th annual Iron Range Rotary Chili Cook-Off held at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center Thursday evening in Virginia.
The cooks were all striving to impress a panel of judges as well as thousands of chili tasters to be named the best chili on the Iron Range, serving up cup after cup to an endless line of eager eaters, and all for a good cause.
The chili cook-off is the primary fundraiser for the Iron Range Rotary Club, with the funds going to projects such as the annual kids fishing derby in June as well as college scholarships, maintaining Rotary Park, and helping the Salvation Army with their outreach.
Along with the chili sampling, an extensive silent auction was part of the evening’s fun.
