Rock Ridge Youth Baseball played their postseason games a couple of weeks ago, wrapping up a great summer season. With thoughts for most players starting to turn to football, A group of talented Rock Ridge majors players still had some life in their bats to show off.

Thursday night, in Olcott Park, majors all-stars tipped their caps and unwrapped their bats for a night of power displays and web gems on the field. The first half of the evening was dominated by the annual home run derby. I wouldn’t have thought the players wearing Little League uniforms would have the power to swing for the fences, but wow, was I wrong. Ball after ball flew high over the outfield fence to the delight of both players and fans alike. Each player was given 10 outs to show off their power, and a few just didn’t look like they wanted to sit down, including Eli Miller, who blasted 9 home runs to win the derby.

The second half of the evening saw the boys take the field for a great, high-scoring game between two talented teams. Each player seemed to take full advantage of the opportunity to display the skills they perfected over the last few months. With great weather, plenty of action, and fun all around, it was a fantastic way to close the book on the 2026 summer season.

For those who still can’t get enough baseball action, don’t lose hope. Fall ball is just around the corner!
