Revive Virginia Hosts the Annual Food Truck Festival
Chestnut Street in Virginia was alive with music, chatter, and the irresistible, mouth-watering aromas of sizzling meats, spices, and sweet treats drifting down Chestnut Street Saturday afternoon when the long-awaited Revive Virginia Food Truck Festival got underway.
By noon Saturday, downtown Virginia was filled with a sea of hungry festival-goers taking a culinary tour around the world. Snackers had over 30 food trucks ranging from egg rolls to BBQ, roasted sweet corn, fresh spun cotton candy, wood-fired pizza, and everything in between to sample.
While food, food trucks, and eating were the central focus of Saturday’s festival, there was plenty more to explore, from Amazing Charles custom-making balloon animals to live music set up on both ends of Chestnut to the popular Ninja obstacle course for kids to enjoy.
Revive Virginia is a volunteer-driven nonprofit based in Virginia that was formed by local community members with the mission to renew, revive, and restore the historic downtown business district along Chestnut Street.
Revive Virginia uses community-driven events, public-private partnerships, and promotional campaigns to drive foot traffic straight to local storefronts, restaurants, and regional entrepreneurs. Alongside the food truck festival, they host popular community traditions like the downtown trunk or treat and the twilight holiday parade.
The Revive Virginia Food Truck Festival has grown into one of the Iron Range’s premier annual traditions. What started as a creative grassroots idea to bring people together has steadily expanded into this year’s powerhouse regional event, marking its 7th year.
More than 4000 people are expected to attend the event, with more than 30 food trucks from across the region taking part.
