With just the hint of a fall chill in the air on Monday afternoon. The Hibbing Bluejackets and Proctor Rails engaged in a tactical battle that resulted in a single goal each in the first half. Jonathan Chacich netted a goal for Hibbing in the first half with a kick that found the back of the Proctor net and tied the game at 1-1.
After the 19th minute, the game turned to the defense with neither side able to find an opening into the opposite lines. The second half was a back-and-forth affair much like the late minutes of the first, with defense clamping down and goals hard to come by. Both goalies held their ground, turning away kicks.
When the final whistle blew on Monday’s match, the final score remained locked at 1-1.
The Bluejackets next face Mesabi East in Hibbing at 7:00.
